Throughout the month of June, I was offered the opportunity to help volunteer for graduation. I jumped on this opportunity, knowing how much I appreciated the graduating class of 2017 for their guidance and just generally our friendships. Thus, throughout the month, I helped with many of the logistics behind graduation, helping design the tickets, distribution of them, the prices of the event including decorations and paying for ushers. I also helped edit the graduation video, in which we compiled teachers' quotes and messages to each individual graduating student. In the end, it was extremely successful. I also helped contribute to the speakers at graduation as well.
On the day of graduation, it was enjoying to see everything come together. Everyone arrived all dressed up and excited, while I worked at the front desk greeting families and friends as well as attempting to sell remaining yearbooks. Though at times it became overwhelming as there were so many people coming in, the presence of other volunteers reduced this. Overall, this was an interesting and fun volunteering activity as I was able to be an active member of the BSGE community but at the same time help those who needed it.
