For the first yearbook assignment, I had to tackle on the BSGE Lady Sting Basketball team. This enabled me to learn a lot about graphic design and the challenges of creating a yearbook.
First, creating balance visually was difficult. I was fortunate enough to have many photos to work with, but so many of them were blue, which made it difficult to avoid blue being so overwhelming on the page. It was also hard to make space for certain things based on the scaling and dimensions of each photo. What made this easier is the tool where you can choose the dimensions of the photo and then scale it within there (zooming in, deciding how much of the actual photo you want to include in that given photo box space). I also balanced between photos and text by having quotes from both the co-captains and coach.
Second, I realized how much time is put into each thing. Being new to working on yearbook, I learned that even just simply aligning everything to make sure all the space between each photo is uniform takes at least an hour. Thus, from now on when working on the yearbook I think it is best to spread out the time spent as opposed to doing it all at once, spending more than nine hours on just one spread within one day.

In the end, I was happy with how my spread came out, as I attempted to overcome the challenges.
